Considering the characteristics of extruded rice bran being fragile during transportation and having a large powder content, puffed rice bran is generally extracted in a flat rotary extractor.

Since rice bran contains a large amount of impurities such as crude fiber and starch, the material cannot be turned over after entering the material grid of the flat rotary extractor. If the moisture content of the extracted material is high, under the continuous warming effect, the impurities such as crude fiber and starch in the leached material will absorb water and swell, resulting in a sticking effect, making it difficult for the material to fall in the material grid of the flat rotary extractor, and a “bridge” phenomenon that makes it difficult to fall occurs. Therefore, when making a flat rotary extractor, the material grid should not be too high. The flat rotary extractor should be made short and fat, and the height of the material in the material grid is generally controlled at about 1.3 m, so that even if the moisture content of the leached material is a little high, there will be no “bridge” phenomenon.

Since extruded rice bran contains a large amount of powdery materials, during the rice bran oil extraction process, these powdery materials will enter the oil bucket through the bottom of the grid plate, and will form accumulation over a long period of time, affecting production. In order to solve this problem, a cross-shaped recoil pipe should be installed in each oil hopper of the extractor when the horizontal rotary extractor is manufactured. During the rice bran oil production process, the control valve of the recoil pipe is often opened to flush the oil hopper, and the mixed oil containing impurities is pumped to the material on the upper part of the material grid through the mixed oil circulation pump for filtration to avoid the accumulation of powdered materials in the oil hopper and ensure the normal progress of subsequent process production. In addition, since the puffed rice bran has a columnar structure and the gaps between the materials are large, the solvent penetrates through the material at a faster speed, and it is not easy to form a liquid surface on the upper part of the material. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the spraying amount of fresh solvent and the circulation amount of mixed oil to reduce the residual oil in the meal and increase the oil yield.
